hello world

I am new to the world of blogging and don't think I'll be very good at it, but I figured what the heck.  I have nothing to lose, hopefully.  My goal with this blog is to just talk about my life experiences - mundane,  scandalous, and all.  An important part of my identity is that I am a scientist... a woman of color in the physical sciences to be exact.  I love my life, but sometimes the uncontrollable circumstances around me regarding my race and gender make me mad, pretty mad.  A pretty mad scientist.
